PETROGLYPHS Editor and Writer Nancy Marano WINS 2013 AWARDS

PETroglyph's Editor, Nancy Marano, won four awards in the 2013 New Mexico Press Women's Communication Contest!

Nancy received two 1st Place awards. One was 'Personality Profile' for the piece "Samantha Martin: The Making of an Animal Trainer." The other 1st Place award was for 'Columns-General' for the Cat Chat articles "Adopted Cats Equal Happy Cats" and "A Rock'n Cat Good Time - The Amazing Acro-Cats and Rock Cats." She was also recognized with a 2nd Place award in 'Feature Story, Online Publications' for "TNR Is a Success in Albuquerque," and an Honorable Mention in 'Feature Story, Newsletter' for "Internet Help for Lost and Found Pets."

PETroglyph's Editor and Writer Nancy Marano has won three awards in the 2012 New Mexico Press Women's Communication Contest!

Nancy received the 1st Place award for 'Personality Profile' for the piece "Ralph and Celina Levine: Animal Advocates." She was also recognized with two 2nd Place awards for 'Publication Editing' of PETroglyphs and for outstanding 'Columns-General' for the Cat Chat articles "Bill Nelson: Cat Whisperer" and "Darlene Arden: The Cat's Meow."

PETroglyph's Editor and Writer Nancy Marano has won two awards in the 2011 New Mexico Press Women's Communication Contest!

Nancy received the 1st Place award for editing PETroglyphs and the 2nd Place award in the Informational Columns category for her regular column Cat Chat.

PETROGLYPHS WINS CAT WRITERS' AWARDS

Great News! In 2010, Nancy Marano has has been awarded 2nd place for Informational Column and 3rd place for Editing in the New Mexico Press Women 2010 Communications Contest.

Nancy Marano's popular column "Cat Chat" has again won a Muse Medallion, for best newsletter column for 2006.

Nancy also won a special Shojai Mentor Award, "which recognizes the Cat Writers' Association member who has offered guidance, encouraging counsel, support, or other help that has had a direct and positive influence on another's writing/publishing success."

PETroglyphs won Muse Medallions from the Cat Writers' Association for best regional newsletter in 2004 and 2005.

A judge has commented that PETroglyphs is "well-written, well-researched and provides excellent in-depth coverage of issues affecting its readers." And, regarding Cat Chat: "She (Nancy Marano) had an important message and an authoritative voice. I would want to read her columns again." PETroglyphs thanks the Cat Writers' Association for honoring us once again.

PETROGLYPHS STAFF WRITER WINS DOG WRITERS' AWARD

Deborah Schildkraut has won a 2006 Maxwell Award from the Dog Writers' Association of America for her Casa Canine series on end-of-life issues. Thank you to the Dog Writers for honoring PETroglyphs with this coveted award.
